Springtree Restortation Donates Roof!

We have announced the winner of our Springtree Restoration No Roof Left Behind Campaign: George Salazar of Frisco, Texas! His new roof will be installed the morning of November 15, 2017 (weather permitting), just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. The roof installation will be followed by a community celebration at the job site on November 15, 2017.

Springtree’s No Roof Left Behind community service project campaign was launched in June of this year with a call for nominations of deserving homeowners in need of a new roof. From those nominations, three finalists were selected, and the public was asked to vote online for the winner.

George and his late wife, Bertha, were nominated by their daughter Stephanie. When she nominated them, her mom was in the midst of fighting her third bout with cancer, and her dad had been forced to retire to take care of his wife, who required 24/7 care and monthly trips back and forth to Houston for treatment. With the couple’s funds already significantly strained, their home and automobiles were hit by hail storms in both April and May of this year and then, to make matters worse, their home’s air conditioning went out during the summer. They could not afford the new roof or other home repairs they needed and, in August, sweet Bertha passed away.

“This family’s resilience in the face of loss and so many struggles has touched us,” said AJ Huckaby, co-founder and co-owner of Springtree  Restoration. “We are honored to be part of restoring the Salazar home and making it safe, dry and comfortable again.”

springtree roofing donates roof

Through the No Roof Left Behind program, partners Allied Building Products and GAF Materials Corporation are donating roofing supplies and shingles, and Springtree Restoration is donating the labor for the roof replacement and coordinating the whole effort.

Beyond the roof, other generous and compassionate manufacturers and local contractors jumped on board to help and will provide additional home restoration services later in November. Window replacement materials and work will be donated by Burris Windows, Cardinal Glass and installer Jeremy Lewis with Going Green Window Replacement. A new exterior paint job will be donated by: Sherwin Williams (paint) and Jireh Painting (labor). New exterior siding and trim will be donated by Springtree Restoration (materials and labor), and new exterior lighting will be provided by Springtree (materials) and G4B Electric (licensed electricians).

“When we invited manufacturers and other local contractors to help out the Salazar family, we were overwhelmed by the positive and quick response,” said Huckaby.
